Introduction

Paws Along The Thames (“the app”) is developed and operated by Matt Gage. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account information If you create an account, we collect your email address and the name you provide. This is stored securely using Supabase, our cloud database provider.

Walk progress and saved plans If you are signed in, your walk progress (sections of the Thames Path you have completed) and any AI-generated walk plans you save are stored in our cloud database. This allows you to access your data across devices.

Location data The app requests access to your device location solely to show you nearby train and tube stations. Location data is used in real time and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

Usage data We do not collect analytics or usage tracking data.

Bug reports If you submit a bug report through the app, we collect the message you write along with your account email address. This information is used only to investigate and resolve the reported issue.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide the features of the app:

  • Your email address is used for account authentication and to send password reset emails
  • Your walk progress and saved plans are stored so you can access them across devices and on our website
  • Location data is used only to find nearby stations and is never stored
  • Bug report information is used only to fix problems you have reported

We do not sell, share or transfer your personal data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — cloud database and authentication (supabase.com)
  • Anthropic — AI plan generation via the Claude API (anthropic.com)
  • Open-Meteo — weather data (open-meteo.com)
  • Transport for London API — tube and rail status data
  • Rail Data Marketplace — live train departure data
  • OpenStreetMap — map tiles

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We only share data with these services to the minimum extent necessary to provide app features.

Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely by Supabase on servers located in the European Union. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as you have an active account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account screen within the app.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
